This test evaluates for the presence of elevated peptides (brain toxic chemicals) to gluten (found in wheat and wheat related products) and casein (found in cow dairy). Peptides from these food sources are known to trigger behavioral, and often times language difficulties in individuals with an autism-spectrum disorder. Also, depression, mood disorders, as well as attention and focusing problems can be associated with elevated peptides from casein and gluten. Doctors often use this test to rule out/in peptide sensitivity for children on the autism-spectrum, and those with mental health challenges.
