Phospholipase A2 (PLA2) Test

The Phospholipase A2 (PLA2) test is critically important for anyone dealing with a chronic neurological disorder including Autism, Alzheimer’s disease, Multiple Sclerosis, Parkinson’s disease. etc. It has also been shown to be high in various autoimmune conditions, i.e. Rheumatoid Arthritis and even from head injuries. This simple to collect urine test can provide valuable information regarding this toxic compound PLA2.

Phospholipases are a group of enzymes that breakdown fatty acids leading to an elevation of inflammatory compounds called Eicosanoids. PLA2 is a specific phospholipase that has particularly damaging effects on various cell functions and organ systems. Studies have shown PLA2 to be very high in certain individuals with Alzheimer’s suggesting ongoing inflammation within the nervous system. The same is true for individuals with Multiple Sclerosis.

Another reason this test is important is to help monitor the positive effects of supplementation with a natural compound called CDP-Choline which is known to specifically inhibit PLA2.

NOTE: This test is not available to residents of New York or Maryland. Any orders originating from these states will automatically be canceled. Any samples originating from these states will be discarded.
