Are These Tests Covered by Insurance? Can I Get Insurance Reimbursement Codes?

No. Tests ordered through Lab Tests Plus are not covered by health insurance. Because our physicians are not directly consulting with you, they cannot diagnose you to assign medical diagnoses or insurance codes. Insurance companies require diagnostic codes for reimbursement, so these are not included on invoices.

What Will I Receive With My Lab Test Results?

Each order includes:
Your official lab report from the testing laboratory
A personalized, written interpretation of your results by either Dr. Kurt Woeller or Dr. Tracy Tranchitella
A doctor-recommended course of action to help improve your overall health

Your written interpretation provides clear insights into what your results mean, including supplement and nutrient recommendations, dosage guidance, duration of use, and where appropriate, suggested medications or diet strategies to discuss with your own healthcare provider.

Many interpretations also include links to educational videos, articles, and other resources for ongoing learning. All results and reports are delivered via secure PDF to the email address you provided when placing your order.

Why Does My Test Include a Doctor’s Interpretation? I Just Want the Results.

At Lab Tests Plus, we believe in empowering you with understanding—not just data.
Laboratory reports alone can be confusing, and numbers without context can easily be misinterpreted. That’s why every test includes a professional medical interpretation written by experienced functional medicine physicians.

Our goal is to help you make sense of your results, understand the “why” behind your symptoms, and guide you toward meaningful next steps for better health. Even when results appear “normal,” our doctors explain subtle patterns that may indicate early imbalance or risk—insights that are often overlooked.

Can I Ask the Doctors Questions About My Health Concerns?

Yes. You may email us to ask questions regarding your test result interpretation and recommendations. 

Will the Doctors Provide Prescriptions Based on My Test Results?

No. Prescriptions cannot be issued based solely on lab testing. By law, our doctors must conduct an in-person examination before prescribing medication. However, when appropriate, your written interpretation may include medication suggestions (with names and dosages) that you can discuss with your own physician.

Will the Doctors Recommend Supplements?

Yes. When indicated, your written interpretation will include specific supplement recommendations based on your lab findings. These may include professional-grade products from trusted healthcare brands. You’ll also receive access codes that allow you to order these supplements directly from the manufacturers.

Are Shipping Costs Included?

Yesshipping is included for all orders within the contiguous United States.
For Hawaii, Alaska, U.S. territories, and international orders, you are responsible for shipping costs to and from the lab.

Attention New York Residents

Unfortunately, we cannot ship tests to New York State. New York law prohibits residents from ordering this type of direct-access laboratory testing. For more information, we encourage you to contact your state representatives.

Do You Ship Tests Internationally?

Yes. We ship all over the world. However, for international orders, Hawaii, Alaska, and U.S. territories, you are responsible for all shipping costs both ways.

After your order is placed, we will email you with the shipping fee amount and payment instructions. The lab will not ship your test kit until this payment is received.

What Is Your Cancellation Policy?

Orders can be canceled before we place your request with the laboratory. Once the lab has received the order (you’ll receive an email confirmation when this happens, usually within 24–48 hours), we can no longer cancel it.

To cancel your order, email us immediately at LabTestsPlus@gmail.com with “CANCEL ORDER” and your order number in the subject line. Cancellations by phone or voicemail are not accepted.

If your kit has already shipped, you may return it unused and unopened for a refund, less any credit card processing or restocking fees. (See refund policy below.)

What Is Your Refund Policy?

You may return your unopened, unused test kit within 60 days of purchase for a refund, minus any processing fees charged by the lab, PayPal, or your credit card company.

Please note:

  • Refunds are not issued for opened or used kits.
  • Filing a credit card dispute before returning your kit voids eligibility for a refund.
How Long Do I Have to Send My Sample Back to the Lab?

Test kits must be sent to the lab within one (1) calendar year from the date of purchase. Kits submitted after one year are invalid and will not be processed or refunded.

How Long Will It Take to Receive My Results?
  • Order Processing: Within 2 business days of purchase.
  • Kit Shipping: 5–7 business days (domestic); international times vary.
  • Sample Analysis: Once your sample is received, results are typically ready within 2–3 weeks, depending on test complexity and lab workload.
  • Doctor Review: Dr. Woeller or Dr. Tranchitella will review your results and prepare your personalized interpretation within 2-4 business days after receiving your lab data.

Most clients receive their full report (lab results + written interpretation) within 2–3 weeks from the date they mail their samples.

If you have not received your results within that timeframe, please email LabTestsPlus@gmail.com with your order number, and we will follow up with the lab on your behalf.

How Will I Know When My Test Kit Has Shipped?

Once your order has been processed, you’ll receive an email confirmation indicating that your kit has shipped from the laboratory. If you do not receive your test within 5 business days, please contact us at LabTestsPlus@gmail.com for assistance.
